Our party this year had a theme of “Afternoon Tea”

The day started with our refreshment team, David, David and Jean serving drinks and mince pies kindly donated by David and Jean’s son who is the manager of Sainsbury’s Mansfield.

Baroness Bolsover entertained us with the history and etiquette of this elegant occasion followed by our own u3a version of afternoon tea enjoyed by 85 members including invited guests, prepared and served by our Social Committee.

The Ringtones sang songs and carols and the audience joined in energetically!

After the food had been  eagerly devoured and enjoyed with hardly a crumb left, (maybe not quite with the etiquette that the Baroness has demonstrated), we had the Christmas raffle, organised and donated by Ann and members.

Another joyous wonderful event to start our Christmas season.
