At our recent Coffee Morning held during National u3a events week, we were honoured with the presence of ” Elvis ” who had been rehearsing with The Ringtones  who performed a medley of Elvis’s songs. This was enjoyed by everyone and many joined in! Hopefully the people who came to the Coffee Morning to see what our u3a is about, and if they join, won’t expect such polished entertainment at every meeting! It was great to see that one lady who “popped in” enjoyed singing with the Ringtones and is going to join us. During the morning we had an Elvis themed quiz, some of the tables did very well and got a lot right, some of us not so good! We had a raffle, sold books, jigsaws and beautiful blankets that were crocheted by Linda Stockton. Hopefully those who did pop in will come to the next meeting and decide to join us. Thanks to the ” boys ” in the tea bar, the raffle ticket sellers and all who supported this event by distributing publicity around the area.
