Recruitment & Volunteers Fair held on 4^th June
at Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre, Edwinstowe

Our u3a was invited to attend the above by Newark & Sherwood Community Voluntary Services to celebrate “Volunteers Week”
It was a full day event enabling organisations, community groups and charities to promote their activity and network with others. We were even provided with a gazebo from the Sherwood Forest wardens, a great help as the weather was hot and sunny, encouraging lots of people to visit the centre.
We spoke to many people, local and tourists, who asked what the u3a does, looked at our display, some already members elsewhere, and gave out newsletters and flyers. Ian serenaded the visitors on the recorder and Robin Hood and one of his Merry Men stopped by to say hello!
This was a worthwhile event to promote our u3a. Thanks to Ian and Diane for all their help beforehand and on the day, and Ann and Maureen for their support.
